My rants are better, Giant boi ;)

Find me a free Reign...puhleeeze...
I have no affiliation with Giant anymore, besides what I'm riding, so I'm not coming at this on a slant, just saying what I've ridden.
Shoot, I'm still waiting to ride my Reign, anyone got some CrossMax XL 20mm adaptors laying around? That is all I need (and have needed for over a month, lazy arse), then I'll be ripping around pretty soon.
Built it up sweeeet too, the Pike Air rules.
Mmm, beer...

If I gave you a 24 pack of Hamm's, would you give me the Reign? :oink:

What kind of rear shock are you running on it?

Umm, naw.
I have the stock shock right now, but will be running a RockShox Motion Control rear shock pretty soon, on both the bikes. Like the adjustability of 'em, plus they'd match the Pike (Reign), Reba (Trance) with the same damping.
Anyway...
I would still like another 24 pack of Hamms though, damn...though I suppose now this Silver Bullet will have to do...

Get the Trek Top Fuel 110 or 98 if you want a carbon fs xc bike. It has a much better frame than the giant and a real life time warrenty. Plus, the suspension has been a proven xc winner...it's a great package. I don't want to bash the giant or specialized, but as far as light fs xc bikes go, trek wins hands down. The giant carbon frames simply aren't up to par with the trek carbon frames and the specialized epic has a definate on/off suspension feel. Suspension feel is personal, but frame quality is not...go trek.

I  riding a bike that other people think is crap! ;)

My last bike was a Trek Y-bike. I got all sorts of crap for *years* about what a $hitty bike it was. :thumb:

Hehe, I had a Trek Y-22 back in the day. My buddies called it the "Grim Creaker" The frame was cracked and I was about to warranty it when a theif stole it. Best thing that ever happened to me :D

Insurance cash got me a sweet '98 FSR pro.

What are trying to accomplish? Bob free suspension. I'd stay away from things like the NRS or brain shocks. A simple single pivot with a SPV shock can be set up to pedal like a hardtail yet still ride smooth as butter. Fox pro pedal is cool but the adjustability of a 5th or Swinger is the way to go in my opinion.
sorry missed it.

just trying to get a fully active suspension frame that's light and is durable enough for endurance racing. bob free isnt the goal.

Hehehehe. My buds called mine The Drum because of how it resonated every time something got kicked up into the downtube. Mine didn't crack until I drove it into the garage. Insurance ponied up enough for an '01 Giant Xtc Team. :thumb:

bout what i can get a racer x frame for. i have a new fox rlt 80 for it, a brand new still in the box 2005 xt crank set and about to aquire a full (other than cranks) XTR drive train used but in perfect condition. I am also going to rebuild my front wheel king on 517 not sure of the spokes or pattern yet but it's going to be black and its going to be cool.

Sweet! You must know as well as anyone else that a Racer-X or Flux kick an NRS to the ground... :p
