Back to your corner, nobody wants to hear that stuff .
It was a great series for the Cards, especially since the team had struggled so bad down the stretch. Two 100 win seasons and nothing, but 83 wins and the they fight their way to a championship ... go figure.
It was good to see some of those guys win a ring. Edmonds was a great player (and is still pretty good) on the downside of his career. Taguchi left Japan as a star and struggled here, but he kept coming back and playing in whatever role he could because he wanted to play in America. Eckstein plays like it means everything to him, heck, the guy runs to first on a gimme groundout like he actually thinks he is going to make. Good for those guys!
Tell Steinbrenner to stop trying to buy the series then. He sucks, Torre sucks (and should have been fired) and the "star studded" Yankees sucks. Grow some talent in the farm leagues and bring it up. That's how you win a world series, not by buying the people that beat you last season *cough*ARodJohnsonDamon*cough*
I think Im happy for every team that wins the WS that ISNT the Yankees. Hopefully Pinella will get the cubs back to form in the next couple years. I need a cubs/bears championship for my life to be complete.
