Last season my biggest weakness was cardio endurance. I race DH by the way.
So this winter it is my goal to make that not a problem next season.
I have started with some interval training and endurance training... but I don't know what sort of schedule would be the most beneficial?
As it is now, I go to the gym MWF and the first 4 weeks I did weights and intervals ( 5 min warm up, 4 minutes of sprints 20sec all out 10 sec rest) then a three minute cool down.
I am into the third week of the next weeks and have been doing weights and 10-15 minutes on an eliptical runner as a warm up then 20 minutes on the bike at a quick pace increasing the pace every 5 minutes by a couple of rpms... then a 2-3 minute cool down.
Is this good? Do I need to be doing something different... I just want to be able to get on the gas when I need to... especially for those longer DH courses....
