Here is the deal, my wife travels to cyclocross races with me; we have a Nissan Sentra that barely fits all of my gear. Now we have a daughter and I don't think we'll be able to fit all of our collective gear into the car. I'm typically carrying two bikes, several additional sets of wheels, along with a big gear bag. I was thinking about getting a rocket box, but I'm not sure that it will fit on the rack due the small size of our car. Anyone have any suggestions? We currently have a Thule 400XT rack with two 518 trays for the bikes. I didn't cut the cross bars when we bought the rack, so the trays could be slid out pretty far.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
:( You may have to think about getting a larger vehicle!

Do you have a hitch on the car? If so, perhaps a gear tray or hitch mounted bike rack and then the cargo box on the roof? Other than that, we've toyed around with the idea of getting a small enclosed trailer to put all of our gear in.

Honestly, you may just have to pack much lighter and take only the bare necessities.

if i can fit two bikes and a box on top of an old vw rabbit, you can fit it on top of a nissan sentra.

grab a couple rack mounted wheel carriers while your at it for the extra wheels and to give your sentra that euro-pro-support look :thumb:
