Actually honeymoon suggestions, but what hell. We'll be headed out in mid October, and seeing neither of us have been there, I was looking for some input from those of you that have. Something with casino's, some good night life, good restaurants, low crime area would be nice. Also maybe somewhere with some good waves for surfing. Something not in the hurricane belt that time of year also. We've heard great things about Aruba, but it seems kind of flat, deserty? Mountainous or even hilly terrain would be nice. St. Thomas, St Lucia, St Thomas and Antigua look nice for that. From pictures anyway. Any suggestions on islands and resorts? Thanks.

If you're getting married, make sure you memorize the words to Billy Ocean's "Caribean Queen", and serenade your lady once you get to you Caribean honeymoon destination.

"Caribbean Queen
Now we're sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run"

After you sing the song, you will be guaranteed the best night ever. Billy Ocean works wonders like that.

I recently came home from riviera maya, Mexico and loved every second of it. The people were great there, 7 restaurants to choose from, all inclusive. Bottle of greygoose, JD, bacardi and tequila hnging upside down in my room to self serve as i felt necessary. The hotel was aventura palace resorts. 1200 rooms. has a north and south side lobby. 10 pools, its own 3 laggons with massage huts right on the water. check it out online, do a search. for the price u cant go wrong. from NYC to there $1700 per person in peak season feb break. It also includes several day trips at no additional cost. you really cant go wrong.. we stayed there for a week for that price

Aruba is a nice island, but compared to some of the other islands it is relatively flat. The elevation that they do have is towards the north side of the island which is pratically a desert. That being said, the island is otherwise really nice, the people are very friendly, and the crime isn't bad (say unlike Jamaica). There are also plenty of hotels/casinos and the food was pretty decent. Some other islands to look are Bonaire and Curacao (great for diving).

With that list the island isn't really going to matter. Just pick a resort you like. Or better yet, a cruise ship.

MBC and I went on a short cruise a couple years ago. The only island we really visited was The Bahamas. They do have a pretty cool casino there, but I really can't say much else than that. We went to the casino, shopped, went to the beach, then got back on the cruise ship.

Mid October is still hurricane season for anywhere in the Carribean, no escaping that. Regardless of what you do, trip insurance is a very good investment for that time of year.

St. Thomas is really nice. Not sure how much you want to spend but my wife and I stayed at a place called Pavillions and Pools http://www.pavilionsandpools.com/index.html Has a private pool in each villa and a little kitchen which was great for making our own breakfast. Its a little out of the way but a cab ride into Charlotte Amalie is cheap. And the beach is just a five minute walk.

St. Croix is a lot of fun as well but definately more commercial.

id second st thomas. i got married whilst there on a cruise in 03. beautiful beaches; megans's bay is usually considered a world's top 10 beach. cool town for shopping/siteseeing. good snorkeling etc. my parents are acutally there right now, my aunt and uncle bought a timeshare when we were there for the wedding. here are a few pics

if you dont have a preference as to where you go, hit up a cruise. a standard 7 day jaunt hits 4 islands so you arent bound to one place for the whole time. we were at nassau, st thomas, san juan and haiti while on this cruise.

Costa Rica looks awesome. never been, but we plan too. I hear the surfing is awesome too plus rain forest, volcanoes, monkees everywhere. the surfing may be on the pacific side tough.

Ok, well as long as you know what you are up against...at the time I was a 'regular' smoker...not a big stoner mind you, but I certainly could hold my own...but what was funny is...some people overheard us talking about it...and they had never gotten high before and they wanted to try it. We were like sure man...we're leaving soon and we don't wanna flush it and we certainly aren't smuggling it back to the states...the dude actually threw up! HAHAHAHA!

i just got back from st martin. damn, it's changed a lot since i was there (1990). the beaches and weather are still ace, but the traffic is pretty bad (not many roads). and it looks a bit rundown/seedy in spots too.
