Several of his wins at the TDF showed competitors out accelerating him at the line, they just had to start several bike lengths back. I think he will miss the lead out train of HTC and his results will suffer. Unless Sky puts together a great lead-out and gets Zabel as a mangler I see half as many victories for him.

One thing I enjoy about Team Sky is that their lack of podium presence keeps Pinarello off of the front of mags. As much as I enjoy Cav, I'm hoping Team Sky keeps up their winning ways.

Agreed... Griepel (sp) had more horsepower, but no organized leadout.

The HTC-Highroad team will end its association with professional cycling at the end of the season, drawing to an end its five-year spell in the sport.

The squad has consistently been ranked as the number one team in the world, but struggled to attract a new sponsor or convince cell phone maker HTC to renew. Team owner Bob Stapleton today announced that the squad would fold at the end of the year, and encouraged riders from both the men's and women's teams to find new homes for 2012.

The Inner Ring has a great article on HTC, worth reading...

Doesn't matter what team he is with he'll still complain a lot and hold onto the car going up hills. Which is worse, doping to help you ride a little faster, or holding onto the car so you don't have to pedal?

Are there any pics or vid of him doing this?

I've never seen a picture of the 'autobus'. Why would the media waste a camerman to follow a group that has no intention of doing anything but trying to finish on time -- which they didn't succeed in doing at least twice this year?

Not saying it happened but just because there is no picture doesn't mean it didn't.

Interesting that he was also accused of doing it at the Giro...

“He[Cavendish] should just be happy that he’s still in the race,” said Ventoso. “He should have been disqualified for holding on to his car up the climb of Etna. It’s a shame, because everyone is having a huge struggle to get up within the time limit, and then there’s someone who clings on to his team car without the judges doing anything about it.”

Cavendish was the last rider to cross the line at the very back of the sprinters “gruppetto”, finshing 26’35” behind Contador and making the time limit by just 25 seconds. Aussie sprinters Robbie McEwen (RadioShack) and Graeme Brown (Rabobank) were not so lucky though, and didn’t make it; they finished outside the cut and were eliminated from the race.
