Will an E-Type E.Thirteen DRS chain guide fit on my 2001 Kona Stinky with a 2003 Truvativ Gigapipe Team DH bottom bracket which I think is not an E-type?

According to the packaging of my bottom bracket, the difference between the E-type and non-E is simply a spacer (E-type has the spacer). Is this correct?

The chain guide is supposedly for E-type but the evil website says that the drs will likely fit non-E-type bottom brackets. Anyone with experience on this one?

Woohoo....won it on ebay. From the looks, it'll fit fine. Now just gotta install the bloody thing. Having never done this before, should I have it installed by my LBS or try and do it myself? Also, any estimates on price for a bike shop to do it?

it's really easy to install yourself if you have a BB tool. Just attach the BB adapter to the DRS guide, then stick the BB thru the big hole and tighten it down. Done. (well, there's a little more to it but the DRS instructions will tell you exactly what to do).

If you don't have a BB tool, they're like $12, buy one. No sense in getting an LBS to do it for you. 9 out of 10 LBS's wouldn't know a chainguide from a disc brake, at least around here....

haha....that's probably true at most bike shops around here too. I imagine a bike shop would probably charge right around the 12 bucks a BB tool would cost as well. Guess I'll get one and hope that I haven't gone illiterate over the summer.
