Chain guides???

Questions:
I got an an older frame from a buddy that I want to set up for city duties, but the BB is cross-threaded in, and NOT coming out! No big deal, except the chain line is off (one ring and bash guard up front) when I shift into my lowest gears, and the chain drops off the front.

Are there chain guides that can be thrown right on to my existing BB without removing it? This is stricktly a beater city bike, and I don't want to go too nuts $$-wise on it.

Thanks for any input!

Could you possibly switch the chainring to the outside and maybe run the bashguard inside? Sounds wierd, and I haven't considered the ramifications or physical possibility of this, but it would still work in either position, if it's possible to mount in there.

Or get a BMX chainwheel with a little grind plate attached?

You could also maybe use a locked-out front derailleur in the same way those roox/AC upper DS style guides work....
