Hey there, so I posted here a few months ago because I'm getting into DH again after a 5years hiatus - used to be a regular here, "Clumprider" - and I got a really clean 2002 DH Comp to get back in the sport.

Now the only thing missing right now is the chainguide. I remember that they used to come with some kind of Gizmo or Axiom, can't really remember, because of the linkage and the missing ISCG mounts. However, again IIRC, I think there was some kind of Evil/e13 or MRP setup working.

Thanks for shedding some light :)

Oh and if any1 has a compatible chainguide for sale, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands!

Cheers!

I knew of a couple of people who had e13 SRS on those frames. It might have needed a little moding, but nothing that you could not do with some hand tools.

Somewhere dark, cold & wet....
I had an MRP system 3 running on mine. IIRC I flipped an ISCG adapter and probably rotated it to a slightly weird angle and then was able to mount the guide no problem. I'll see if i've got any photos that show it.

One thing to watch though, there are thicker and thinner ISCG adapters available - thicker ones seem to work much better for this type of bodge

Thanks all! I'm finishing to build the bike this afternoon, I tried an Evil and it seems tight but I'll remove the shock and see if it the linkage hits it.

I'll post pic once the bike is fully assembled. It won't be no 6000$ M6 porn, but hey I'll ride again :)

I used an SRS (the original one) woth the big Bashguard. You need the big bashguard to protect the lower links. I went through a few rear triangles before figuring that out.

You need to dremel the OEM guide tab off the frame, and with somewhat wide spacing on the guide, it will mount up. The first mounting took 4-5 hours to get all of the cutting/spacing etc as close as possible. Once the initial setup was done, we could swap crank/bb in 10min.

The Mr Dirt does fit, but it was a pain to get it setup properly, and due to the need of the large guide to protect the links, you had to space it out even further.

I never tried it with the MRP, as my shop only sold then-Evil (E.13) and Mr Dirt's.
