I'm looking to get a new chainring, the small and middle one only, combined with a bashguard.....

Any suggestions for a cheap decent set?

I'd go with the old reliables: Race Face and/or Shimano. Get the best rings you'll shell out for and get the cheapest bashgaurd you see. Bashgaurds are bashgaurds, even if the Evil mafia says otherwise.

You might want to check out blackspire or vuelta(granny). If you use the granny alot, you might want to get a steel granny.
