Hey all...
I was closely examining my new (used) bike and it's crankset. On the large chainring, I noticed that two of the teeth are smaller and angled differently than the rest of the teeth. It is the original Shimano STX crankset for my Raleigh M-7000.
I thought that it was maybe they were broken or worn badly but it was just those two teeth.... the rest seem fine. When I shopped online for a new replacement STX crankset (Nashbar has it on sale
) I noticed that it also has the same two different teeth.
I know I'm showing my glaring newbie-ness here, but is this normal? I can only assume it helps in shifting, yes?
Thanks for your help!
