I'm looking for a cheap road bike (new or used). It can't cost more than $150. Any ideas besides craigslist or ebay? Are there any cheap websites? I live in St. Louis.

Might want to try your local pawn shops as well. But the "hot" goods factor exists there also.

Check the classifieds/garage sales in your local paper.

YOu could always drive by all your local shops and ask about used bikes... do they sell, Where to get them in town, etc.

Look for a steal bike from the 80's on ebay, you'll have to live with down tube shifters and onl 12 speeds but you can get a good ride, early Trek's are good as are Centurion's. Don't be afraid of a bike witha Suntour drive train. I recently retired my Trek 560 with Suntour Cyclone parts, it was 22 years old and had over 25,000 miles on it....
