I read a similar article in the Hartford Courant (reprinted maybe?). It basically said "cheap" wine is much better now that it was 20 years ago, thanks to the advances in wine making techniques. I probably can't tell a $10 bottle from a $100 bottle anyway.

i would bet you would easily pass the ABX test between a $10 and $100 bottle of wine.

you buy the materials, i'll set up and administer the test.

that's likely true, but chances are pretty good (unless it's corked) you'll at least be able to discern the difference between that and the ten dollar bottle, and likely the $100 bottle will be preferred.

that said, i've not had that many $100 (retail; not counting restaurants) bottles of wine. probably 3.
