Awesome. Can ya give us a quick rundown of what you think of the fork? I'm kinda considering buying one at some stage (maybe just a pipe dream).

hey
so far i've only done about 10 runs last weekend, first time out riding on it :D and i'd have to say the fork feels unbelievable, such a light action, its hard to describe, i've used both a dorado and boxxer wc and this is differant in a really good way, it just feels perfect i guess.. once i've put in some more time and got a good feel for it i might do a decent write up. ;)

I have now ridden many of the DH foks on the maket on my DH bikes, and no one of the other comes close to the DHF8Ti performnace vice. A litle heavy, but it's stiff, smooth, allmost maintainance free and the damping is as close to perfection as you get.

I am thinking about a 7Ti again, for the next season.

Sweet bike. Just my opinion but ... get the rear AVY to match the front and you wont believe the difference. The AVY is WAY more plush than the Curnutt... I ran the Romic, Curnutt, and now the AVY and the AVY is handsdown more plush. It pedals almost as good as the Curnutt and better than the Romic. You have to get it valved just right though. It took a few times back to Craig to get my AVY perfect.

which would be handy for him as he lives in NEW ZEALAND, its an 04 dhs aswell so I think? only the curnutt fits.

haha, changing the rear shock is the last thing on my mind at the mo, the curnutt feels mint and pedals awesome, just a bit sticky still though. I guess it is something to think about maybe.

Whoa. That's one super nice rig! I'd love to get me one of those Avy forks...simply beautiful.

Are the Curnutt and Avalanche shocks based on a same kind of platform? Just wondering since many people seem to regard them as only "true" high-end coil-over shocks..

They don't share the same tecnology. Curnutt is ste "original" 5'th element, with airpreloaded pistonvalve.

Avalanche use a classic, high quality shimstack.

Since I'm on a derailing roll...

What then, according to some people, makes the avy superior to the "spv-style" shocks (romic, 5th, swinger...)

Is it just the overall plushness and performance, or is there some kind of a pedalling improving system to back it up?

Im still sticking to my guns..... the Avy kicks the Curnutts butt. I hated the Curnutt. I just couldnt get use to the sticky feeling. It felt clunky to me.

all a matter of opinion. with the spv valve you set a certain air preasure in the resevoir so it acts as a temporary lock out ( i think lol   ) system. so in this respect it doesnt start the comprssion untill the untill you have broken the seal ( not litteraly broken) so it will react to bumbs drops and other things of that nature: but it wont react to pedal force. now its not a dramatic lock out like on airshocks. you dont pump this thing to 200 psi and fly down the trail expecting it to not compress under pedal and work with a huge 30 ft drop or something like that. its a compromise between the two. if you want a more stable platform(stiffer rear end with less pedal bob). or do you want a more suple platform(softer rear end with more pedal bob). advantages of that is that you can take bigger hits with a softer landing but in a race you lose more power because of the way the shock is reacting to the pedal force. hope that made sense (for more detailed and maybee clearer info talk to acadian).
