Title explains the main problem.

- I have about $1800 or so to put towards a bike.
- I want to learn street, park and dirtjumping better.
- I'm only 5'5 and 110 pounds and to learn these things ^^ I want the smallest bike possible.
- My friends are suggesting a 2003 or 2004 Norco 4by and I checked it out, it's pretty nice.
- The 2003 has all better components than the 2004 except for the rear shock.
- They think I should get a 4by so I can ride everything because it's pretty much an all around bike.
- I didn't want to be learning north shore and stuff, just park, street and djs which would be more along the lines of a hardtail.
- I could then still do all of that while possibly going to Nelson in a week or two.
- Some of my friends are suggesting a Banshee Scratch complete with a '04 Sherman Flick with Avid Disks for $1800 + shipping from a seller.

I really don't know what to do and I want a new bike bad, I've been working all summer pretty much to save for a bike and I have taken off over a week from work this upcoming week so I can ride everyday.

Suggest what you think is a good bike or what I should do with these bikes. I really think the 4by is nice but it's a full suspension and I was looking at a hardtail.

Cheers.

Get an agressive HT like a P3 or something. They are quite a bit less than your budget leaving room for parts later on. They are normally small frames to suite you...but don't go to light. For Urban you will like to have some beef.

that's why we drink it here
Go see what's for sale on Buy/Sell page. Save yourself the expense of going new until you know what you want, bikes don't exactly hold their resale value well.

the p3 aint ****in heavy, look at that, possibly the Chase, if i were you, i'd find a nice used frame online (you could find sasquatchs etc pretty much anything for a really good price) then build it up from there (www.phatmoosecycles.com for parts and especially for wheels)
