I just bought the conversion piece from Chris King by way of Colorado Cyclist to swap my 20mm hub down to a 15mm QR hub.

Went in and bolted it all up. Low and behold, the axle is too wide.

I know that 20mm hubs are standard 110mm at the axle. Does this mean that the 15mm is going to be the same? Why would King do this as currently there aren't any 15mm forks running the 110.

So did I do something wrong here? Or do I need to call King to figure this out?

There is a SD and a LD hub shell, small diameter larger diameter, onder if they sent you the internal parts for the SD and you need the parts for a LD which may include a shorter internal axle?

Beats me just a guess, my Kings won't be here for a while yet.

Never mind. Turns out King shipped Colorado Cyclist the wrong part. Now to find the right part sometime before the 1st of 2011

It a good thing that (like most shops that service bikes, and have a general knowledge of CK stuff) they were able to determine that it was the wrong part before they shipped it.

I think that blame needs to be put less on CK and more on Colorado Cyclist, because really the parts look similar, but they are different. Having dealt direct with CK parts for over 10 years now, yep sometimes the wrong part got shipped, but as with anything it is the retailers job to identify the product before they ship out.
