I know its not technically a race, Or is it? Whatever...but anyways just wanted to know if you can use them interchangeably or do I have to remove from steer tube and switch them when changing forks on the frame.

I want to run two different forks on one frame and just buy a spare bottom race.

Sure, you can buy a spare one to mount on your other fork for ease of swapping out no prob. Since you have a King headset on the frame it wont be an issue. Its called a crown race or base plate btw. I've bought a few online ~$14 myself for the same reason.

make sure you get the newer base plate. the older ones were a big larger and wont work with the newer headsets.
