The point with, for lack of a better work, "selling" something is people have to express an interest to buy. If the Best Buy Guy, banged on your door at 7:30 am on Saturday asking you to buy a plasma TV, his selling average would be pretty abysmal.

Not to mention a) most of their message one could substitute "vacuum" for "Jesus" and it wouldn't change much and b) presenting the Gospel as "you don't want to go to Hell do you" is not much different than pointing a gun to someone's head and saying "convert or I shoot you in the head".

The gun to the head thing has been tried by several different religions at several different points in history. As I recall it never worked out very well...
