Zutroy, it depends on what Fox shock you are talking about. The F4's now all come with Vanilla RC with pro pedal. It feels pretty much like the Romic. I think they just changed because of some of the problems Romic has had.
If you used a regular RC, I would have to speculate that it wouldn't pedal as well but would be smoother on the small stuff.
I just got a DHX for my F4. Haven't ridden it yet. Frame was being held hostage at the polishers for 3 weeks. Just got it back yesterday. Still gotta go in to get clear anodized. Probably be a couple weeks before I get any ride time on it. I'll try to post impressions when I get a few rides on it. My guess is, its gonna be nice.
I have used a F4 with a Fox pro pedal and a Romic. I would say to go with the Fox. Overall its a better shock and I felt that it worked better on the F4.
The F4 has got a low BB height and I found that the Romic would sit quite low in is stroke which just made the BB a bit too low. I tried different springs but they just made the ride to stiff.
The Fox shock sat a bit higher in its stroke so I didnt have that problem.
