1st: i have a chumba f4 and i love it except my floating brake is made for like 90mm brake, its not the international standard. so im running an old hayes rear. i dont like it, and i dont like hayes to begin with. so does anyone know if anyone, or if chumba makes an adaptor for it b/c i dont want to get a whole new floating brake.

2nd: the linkage has lots of play now, so i assume i need new bushings, is this common?

3rd: i get major chainsuck where the chain easily gets sucked in between the tire and chainstay. so chumba's solution is that they have a special MRP chainguide made for the. or does anyone have pictures of it? or if you own an f4, do you get this problem also?

thanks a lot

1. just get a new floater adapter boom, they have them.
2. which linkage? if it is the alum rod, ask for new bushings, they'll be glad to send them, they can even reservice it for you if you send it in (done lots of those)
3. get the special boomerang, they make it a special thickness so you only run 4 BB spacers on drive side for a near perfect chainline (I would know, I used to work there), it also has the chumba dude CNC'd on it-teehee
call 714-577-1159, ask for Bob, talk to him about this stuff.

1. thanks
2. its not that aluminum rod that goes down. its the aluminum block that the shock is mounted to and the rod is mounted to. the middle screw seems like it needs a new bushing.
3. i dont run any spacers on the driveside. but i saw some dude at big bear that had the special guide. it had some extension thingy that prevents the chain from deflecting into the tire.

also, ya i was gonna call bob tomorrow but couldnt realy wait for an answer so i decided to post here.

Call now, talk to Steve (he might not know as much as Bob, but he might be able to tell you when/if Bob will be in)
As for the linkage you described, just call and describe your problem, they'll send you whatever you need/tell you what you need to do. If there is an industrial hardware store nearby, you might be able to match that bushing that holds the rod to the BB (is that your problem? or is it the actual suspension linkage?)

its the actual suspension linkage i think. theres 3 screws, 1 goes to that dogbone, 1 in the imiddle, then the shock mount. i think i need to replace the middle one and the shock mount one. there is a lot of play. if i have mybike on the ground and lift the frame by the BB the frame moves. or if i have the bike on a stand and lift the wheel, the whole swing arm moves.

ill probablyg ive them a call and drive down to anaheim and visit them when im home in LA for xmas break

That's either a very loose bushing that has been run too loose, or the bolt is loose, either way it's a good idea to get it checked out. As for the outer plate, it's not really needed, but some of the riders like it for extra security. The nylon extension is just a thing for extreme conditions, if you want one, they got em.

outer plate? nylon extension? is this all part of the chainguide? my biggest problem right now is the chain falling off and getting sucked in. im gonna mount a temporary polycarbonate piece on the chainstay to block the chain. its really bugging me. ive broken so many chains lately. walking back up to the car totally sucks.
