Denver's got a "cruelty-free circus" vote on the agenda.
What's your thinking... are circuses cruel to animals? I did a brief search on google and the news and didn't find anything substantial either way. Just a lot of flapping of the lips.
Is that what that's all about? I've been noticing a bunch of "Don't Ban the Circus! vote NO" signs appearing in my neighborhood and was wondering whats up.

I remember some flap about a cat that would jump off like a 30' platform onto a pillow some guy was holding. Some people got kind of pissy about that recently.
What type of event is a "cruelty-free" circus? Does that mean one in which the clowns get to ride bikes properly fitted to them by competent, caring LBS workers? Do the lion tamers still get to crack whips at the big cats? I bet they don't even have an elephant that they can overburdon 'til wobbly at the knee with screaming brats dripping ice cream and cotton candy. Also conspicuously absent were: the [vertically-challenged comics], the [horizontally-challenged lady], the [generously-endowed with facial hair female], the [conjoined twins] and Ruprecht the Dog Boy. It's getting to where you can't even throw banana cream pies at someone's face for a dollar for fear of ruining that person's feelings of esteem and self worth.

Yeah, it's getting to where you can't even tie a bit of rope around an animals testicals then yank on it real hard to make him bolt and buck in pain and them ride him for your own amusement.
