I picked up this 2006 Norco Evolve for cheap on Craigslist. I updated the drivetrain, front brake and a few other bits from my parts bin. I'll either sell it to a friend or keep it as an urban beater bike.

As purchased. 28.8 lbs. Came with a nice booster.

New stem, pedals, drive, front brake.

Final photo. 27 lbs. Will probably change tires to get weight into mid 26s.

27 for a steel bike is still pretty good.

Of course it's different than your Echo, but how do you compare it? Is it better at anything, or just a tank in general?

The geo is somewhere between an dj bike and a comp trials bike. BB height is neutral, stays are longer but not crazy long. It's better for bunny hops and manuals, but it still gets up on the back tire okay. The weight is acceptable, not light but doesn't feel like an anchor either. I would like to throw some urban tires on it and go to the city/skatepark, where my pure trials Echo is kooky.

Here's another bike I picked up for cheap on CL. It was disassembled and had a stripped crank. I fixed it up and it's being shipped to a friend's nephew. 2003 Monty 219 Alp Magura
