today's classical track of the day comes from the Romantic period, from the pen of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. or something close to that spelling in any case:
PI Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 6 "Pathetique - IV. Finale - Adagio Lamentoso - Andante - played by the Berliner Philharmoniker, or Berlin Philharmonic if you prefer
tchaikovsky wrote 6 symphonies but only the last three are typically found in the orchestral repertoire. the sixth was written as he was dying -- in fact he died 9 days after the symphony's premiere. read more about it here:

my own musical note is that the finale is a wonderful, lamenting (thus adagio lamentoso... derr ) piece of music. it's especially haunting since the movement right before it is perversely cheery and upbeat.
