the soloists on this track are joseph alessi and philip smith, the trombone and trumpet principals in the new york philharmonic, respectively. they're pretty much badasses :)

trivia about the soloists:

alessi is supposed to be an arrogant jerk. people still line up for miles, metaphorically, to take lessons from him. he has another person screen people who wish to take a lesson for their suitability.

smith, on the other hand, is very nice, humble, and plays with the local salvation army brass choir as well as the ny phil.
