I saw on Shimano's site that SM-SH56 is the cleats for the M540 pedal. But it is not listed in QBP.

Does anyone know of another cleat model which fits the M540 pedal?

No there is a specific cleat for the M858's. I will probably buzz Shimano this afternoon.

I dont think so man. There are different types of SPD's as in Single Directional Release which are the SM-52's and the Multi Directional Release which are the SM-55's.

I called Shimano, and I only got as far as my problem but the standard SH51 fits my pedal. The SH56 is a multi-release cleat, so you can adjust it so you can clip out in different positions.

Not sure why that is important....

In case of a fall. I believe you can clip out by pulling up at the right angle. I just ride the SH-51's. They are more for road but who cares.
