Yeah...that should be a big FYI to people on road trips. If you are car camping and there's no showers, always head to the closest truck stop. These days they have private showers decked out for even the prissiest bird dog!

Ok so the new section behind the wall ride is the ST!!!!! Its done better than the Power Line Trail at Snowshoe. The lower section that is off camber took my out today. A root that was wet washed my front out and I hit a tree hard!!! I was very lucky not to take out my shoulder on the tree. Walked away with a bruised up arm and maybe a broken Rib. I really think you guys should run it for the race and wish I was going to be able to make the race.

Right now that is the planned route for the race. Those roots can definitely be a challenge for you but glad that you werent hurt bad.
I think I just tried to take that line to fast in the wet. Other than that I love the new lay out. The last part is more like a real DH course with the high speed through the Woods.
Ill send over the waiver tonight, im waiting for comcast to actually hook my internet up. They claim they will be here between 4-7 so hopefully before the meeting tonight.
Im definitely coming my car pool situation isnt concrete yet but as of now im bringing at least 1 person from baltimore with me. He used to race bmx nationally so im interested to see how he will do on the course. Hopefully pulling in late friday, whats the party situation?

Yep, just watch for trail maitenance. There will be a fair bit of buffing/taping/digging a happening that afternoon.
I just want to give props for whoever built that new berm section.
That is by far the best thing created at Clemson since the 1981 football team (holla Danny Ford).
Great use of the land, and it reminds me of those berms in the US Open race course.

Ya the new Berm Section needs to be Taped off. You can streight line part of it right out of the first berm after the wall ride.
cool, if i can work out a cheap room we'll probably come down friday to practice and get some vid/pics. otherwise i spend most of my practice time on race day doing slow runs w/ noah
I'd recommed it. They have funkfest fridays in the afternoon which noah would be a great addition too.
I plan on coming down Friday after class, and getting a hotel room...but does anyone know of a hotel in the area that wouldnt mind somebody bringing a bike in the room...I'm not too excited on the idea of just locking my bike in the bed of my pickup while I'm sleeping....
just find a motel that has doors on the outside drive up to it and take ur bike out and roll it in. I wouldn't ask ?'s i would just do it
just toss it on a bike rack outside one of the dorms on campus unwashed. Everyone will think it's some clunker and not go near it.
Weyless, in my opinion i would care less what the hotels were thinking and walk my bike straight in. There arent any laws against having a bike inside. If you run into any problems with where you're keeping it past that then just let me know and we'll work something out.

...thinking about taking friday off work. Be there either stupid late thursday night or balls early friday, perhaps mid afternoon friday. Who knows im excited to ride my bike, I find it funny that my first time this season will be right where I left off if i dont ride next weekend.

Yes, we will have some food to grill out. If you dont want that, the fast food restaurants in clemson are only a short drive out.
How long is the course in miles? Or minutes.
Since we have changed the second half of the course it is hard to say the current course's distance in miles or minutes right now. The times on the old course were ballpark 2+ minutes so there shouldnt be too much variation.
Any pics or footage of the new course yet? Wil, I know you're out there ridin, just strap your phone to your helmet and rip it up!!!

Uh, dude...2002 called- they want their bike back. That guy seriously needs to think about updating his bike before he thinks about his fassion.
Yea, there will be a big bike class. They put 45 lbs or more on the flyer, but I had to remind them this isn't 2000, so we will probably bump that down to 40 lbs.
Its official ! my p.o.s weyless 67 is 40.4 lbs !!!!
