Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
So, Squirrel & I went up to Maine a couple of weeks ago for one of my college friend's weddings. The weather report was looking nice so we loaded up the Equinox with our dress clothes, wedding gifts and of course, our XC bikes and gear and hit the road. Along the way, we made stops at the Long Trail Brewing Company for some lunch and the NH liquor store for some tastey beverages. Finally, we hit our hotel in Saco...had a few drinks, milk & cookies (compliments of our Hotel hostess) and bedtime. Next morning (bright & early) we had a little breakfast, got geared up and headed out for a ride.

Thanks to a great tip from ROCKLAND, we headed out for a pre-wedding ride at the Clifford Park Trails in Biddeford, Maine. The trails were only about 10 minutes from our hotel and were a lot of fun!!! Here are some pics from our ride (about an hour and a half or two hours).

First - Trail map
Second & Third - Things aren't looking so good....there were dead bikes hanging from the trees ;)
Third - What's this...some clever bridges? :D

Then we found this long bridge with a skinny at the end. It was taller than me (and I am 5'4").

(Sorry...I took a video of Squirrel riding it, but I don't know how to attach that).

There was some sweet single track and some fun steep rocky sections to roll down.

First - me rolling a steep rocky trail
Second - me rolling a steep hill before a rock bridge
Third - Squirrel rolling the same hill from a different starting point (about 50 yards to the right of me)

Damn. Someone has been busy building there. Haven't been in so long. Next summer for shure. Nice pics, too.
Thanks...we had quite a bit of fun. Everything is built quite well too. We did talk to another single rider who was in there and evidently one of the local bike shops was doing the singletrack and building the stunts...can't remember which one though.

Everyone comes here for turkey day....and we even ditch the family on Thanksgiving morning to go to the pre-turkey burner ride  We'll be home the next couple of weekends though...a stunt building & riding party would be a nice time :sneaky:
