I just wanted to knee jerk review the Maxxis s-reezay and supertack tires.

I rode a different brand for two + years.

But, yesterday and this morning I rode Maxxis. The trails are ultra-wet, steep, rocky, root covered trails anyone freeriding this weekend in New England knows what I'm saying. All I can say is WOW. I didn't realize a tire could make soooooooo much difference. Climbs, braking, steering all increased to the point I'm writing this.

Also, for the Intense 5.10 crowd. I rode my Vans yesterday so as not to destroy my Intense for this morning. A report on these as well. I use Atomlab pedals (quiet, they are super when working). My Vans were all over the place. I also haven't used these in 2+ years. So, another confirmation for any 5.10 users and those thinking about ordering them. Intense is the word.

That is all. I'm going for a hat trick and trying to ride Monday as well. I love this weather.

Tires: F: Minion DH 2ply 2.35 SlowR / R: Larsen TT 2.35 single SuperT (Larsen appears larger than Minion despite size being equal)

I agree the Maxxis Minion in a SRY or ST are hard to beat. I just got back from Whistler and it was muddy and wet and the SRY stuck to wood structures like I couldnt believe. The ST actually held up pretty well but it starting to tear and chunk. I think next time I will go with the SRY front and rear or SRY front and 60D rear.

Next year Maxxis will be even better since they are doing away with the orange stripe! I like the stripe and all but now atleast you will be able to run a SRY front and a 60D rear and they will match.

i've had good luck with both slow reezay minions (ran 2.5" fr and rr specific ones for much of the season) and the soft compound michelins (ran the 2.8" comp 32? up front for the last week of riding). both are worlds better than the hard tires i've used in the past.

The Michy 2.8 and Minion F SRY 2.7 are real close in tractioin with the Michy getting the edge but I think the Minion rolls way better. Its a toss up. Ill stick with the Minion. The Michy is just so big.
