What an amazing line-up! I miss living in North America for the chance to see great shows. That bill is the perfect mix of the old and the new hotness. To anyone attending I suggest making sure you check out Chromeo on the third day. They are plain awesome! Also high on my "to-see" list would be: Stephen Malkmus, Islands, Hot Chip, Architecture in Helsinki, and Aesop Rock.

bands i've already seen:

the national
cold war kids (not on purpose)
stephen malkmus (well, i'm gonna see his Apr show here, and i've seen pavement)
akron/family
spiritualized
manchester orchestra (not on purpose)

wouldn't mind seeing:
breeders
sharon jones/dap kings
kraftwerk
death cab (if they only played stuff from their first 2 records)
turbonegro
roger waters (maybe...as long as there are no background singers, and he doesn't play anything from The Wall)
my morning jacket
holy f*ck (though they are playing here soon)
black mountain

i like the Streets' first record, but can't imagine that the live show is worth a damn.

that lineup is horse$hit, esp for $300.

the bands i'd want to see, i've already seen, for the most part.
Are you serious that tickets are $300? Definitely puts a damper on who can attend doesn't it.

I'd see the verve again.

And Spiritualized.

Those other bands, never heard of them and don't want to hear them.

i didn't even make it to the 3rd one. the 2nd one is not bad, but due to how it's constructed/conveyed, doesn't really stand to repeated listenings.

There are a couple of decent tracks on the new one, but a couple of pretty damn bad ones.
Rapping about his life was more interesting when he lived at his parent's house, not when he's complaining about his Rolls.

Also, I'd like to see Chromeo live, they'd probably be pretty fun...

I saw the Streets with Dizzee Rascal a-ways back. Dizzee's set blew his away. Mike Skinner stood there like a boring white guy and missed half his lines.

it's good, but not that good. the lineup would have to be epic for me to pay $300 for it.
No joke. For two people, do you know what you could do with 600 bucks? For three hundered a head I would want to hand select each act. But I think we've discussed how incredibly cheap I am. :)

I just missed Aesop Rock. He was here 2 weeks before we moved and in nashville about one month after we moved.

$300 is nothing compared to $1500 for Hannah Montana.

My daughter asked for tickets for Christmas. Please, I paid $18 to see the Ramones. I doubt she will last as long as they did.

you paid $1.5K for hannah montana tickets???

:twitch::twitch::twitch:

the most i ever spent on any show was a tie...$125 for front row wilco tickets (via scalper in '03), and about the same for front row john zorn/masada tickets (retail price, '06). oh and the recent neil young tickets ($170, retail).

all three were worth it, though the wilco show was definitely the lesser of the 3.

Shouldn't you be on a Chinatown bus right about now?

well if you see me upfront and getting trampled, save my camera gear.

looking @ the pics of the venue, it looks to be small, and i hope there's a photo barrier.

No way in hell did I pay for those tickets. I bought her a CD and a shirt, she can wear the shirt and rock out in her room whenever she wants.

I was floored at the idea, but my wife works with a gal who spent $1000 for 4 cheap seats at the Rose Garden (awful venue for shows btw).

the only good thing about the HM phenomenon is that it's raised scrutiny about that company which makes software that brokers use, to jam out other buyers and buy large blocks of tickets.

i usually don't care about the big mega-gigs and it doesn't typically affect me, but sometimes it does.
