Hi there:

It's the off season. Time to relax, right? Not if you want to be a fast racer. If you are interested in being faster next season, now is the time to start planning.

One of the best ways to start planning is to seek a professional opinion on your current and future training. In short, this means looking for a coach. A bike racing coach, you ask? Do they exist? Lance Armstrong, Eric Carter, and Roland Green did not get to where they are without the help of their coaches.

Coaching is not only for the racers, but for anybody who wants to achieve more on their bike. Whether it's a century ride, or being the envy of your buddies. Anyhoo, if you want to know more, take a look at my website.

Thanks for reading

Um i'm to cheap this year and i don't think it would help me much paying someone for this year I've made a very detailed training plan for the winter with the help of Joe Friels Mountain Bikers Bible and Ridemonkey's own Indieboy!

Also i'm pretty sure Roland Green doesn't have a coach i read an interveiw with him in MBA and he say's he doesn't have coach and never has he just get's alot of info from alota ppl.

Matt - your prices are very reasonable and I hope you get some clients. Coaching sounds like it could be a really good gig if you get enough clients.

For those on a limited budget, here is some advice. While Indieboy might be a credible source, Joe Friel's 'cookbooks' for training are exactly that. The knowledge in those books is top notch, but it takes a great amount of care and planning to have it work right on your own. Best of luck to all who give it a shot. You'll learn a great amount.

i've just been giving him small advice to help him out along the way. being a junior racer is tough but not something to stress over. i mean how many top american juniors do you see coming out of the rankings in the last few years that are still around??!??! two are the only ones i can personally think of and that's adam craig and jeremy hobaski

No, those Canadians kicked our guys' arses in mountain biking. Thank god for Dunlap.
well considering that the women's pro field has no depth, yes thank god for dunlap.......the state of womens racing in america is kinda sad. it's great that those who are out there (like yourself and many other women on this site) are there, but at the nationals how many women line up.......at most of the nationals there were at most like 10 at the MOST. then the pro's field isn't all that much better. and it's not going to get much better, the junior women's field is a wreck. magen wouldnt' even touch junior, no need to when there is no one to race against and she can jump into pro and flob out a top 30 finish almost every race.......and shiet the americans are doing a lot better then we have in past years at the world cups, or those who went to any. and not to many ppl are beating the canadians right now so i don't feel to bad that we are being beat by em. give em some time for the drugs to backlash then we'll all be ok. the only clean canadian i've met is chris sheppard. that dude is the MAN. he races down here w/ us and is one class act.

Oh ya i forgot chris sheppard he's amazing to cause um:think: he's canadian:p
it does make you wonder though when both Green and Armstrong are the best and they're both on the same team but i'll say they're clean until someone proves me wrong.:monkey:
