Saw a piece on the local news about this, seems interesting but probably won't have legs if it lives up to it's mission statement. Not enough hyberbole...

Coffee Party USA

As a member or supporter of the Coffee Party, I pledge to conduct myself in a way that is civil, honest, and respectful toward people with whom I disagree. I value people from different cultures, I value people with different ideas, and I value and cherish the democratic process.
I haven't joined, just lurking around trying to sniff out what the agenda is about.

I can't believe people are actually doing something with this.

When I read about it a few weeks ago, I just thought "aw that's cute, look at what someone thought of"

If anything, they should just take a stance of better education. That alone puts them in direct conflict with the folks they're wishing to poke fun at.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/3/28/851912/-We-had-eight-years-of-Bush-and-Cheney,-Now-you-get-mad!

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate
energy policy.

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown.

You didn't get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.

You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans...oh hell no.

sure, it's a "clever" trick, kinda like "healthcare had bipartisan opposition" or more ridiculously "1 in 7 believe obama is the antichrist" (loaded question; loaded answer).

it's actually glenn beck & his shifty mormon ways. he's only pretending to be stupid. it's a 9th round ali rope-a-dope

I love how they close the article, though.

Tea Party members are more likely to be male, slightly older and middle income. Almost half the members of the group reported getting their news about national issues from Fox News, 10 percent of respondents said that talk radio is one of their top two sources, which is seven-points higher than the average voter.

There's a lot of "Independents" out there these days.

Those are Republicans who realize that when you call yourself a Republican these days you're likely a retard (satire Sarah...not that I expect a retard like yourself to understand) or a racist.

a fair point. if i called myself a republican, it's reasonable to assume - again, b/c i call myself a republican - that i rub one out to sarah & use the product to affix my misspelled & awkwardly font-spaced ho-made signs to my picket before truckin' down to the 'bag rally.

no offense, mr. norris

Or you're Michael Steele, and you can't be fired for incompetence because of your race :D

If you would have told me 4 years ago that the GOP would be in total disarray by 2010 because of two exceptional politicians who were both black, I'd have laughed at you. And here we are...
