Is anybody running this setup? I am thinking about making the step, but I'm not sure what my starting point for spring weight should be. I'm 250# in riding gear, if that helps anybody who is running one give a range.
Thanks.

That's just downright dandy. Between 450/500... Now we see which works.
Negative, ghostrider. With these settings plugged in here...

Total Riding Weight (lbs): 250
Rear Weight Bias (%): 60% (should probably be 65-70% for DH)
Rear Wheel Travel (in): 6
Shock Stroke (in): 2.5
Shock Sag (%): 25% (should probably be ~30% for DH)
Preload Adjuster (n.n): 1.0
End Coil Effect (%): 60

It shows me the calculated spring rate is 576#, and suggests using a 550# spring. Not trying to call you out as a heifer or anything, just making sure you get the right thing, buddy.

Shouldn't this be moved to the Fat Thread in the PaWN forum? :thumb:

Can't help either other than to ask if you know what the leverage curve looks like for the SB? If memory serves, my old Spitfire had a linear-progressive-linear curve which made it pretty difficult to find a coil shock to really work right with it. My guess is the SB will work fine with either, but just something to consider.

I remember seeing a certain Yeti rider's SB66 in Boulder with an RC4.
Stoney, maybe a quick call to the factory and ask for some advice?

John P. had a RC4 on his old Alu SB66. Seem to remember him saying it worked well.

Already done. They cc'd me on an email with one of the guys from Dirt Labs. Just waiting to hear back.

RC4 with a 550# spring is inbound. I won't have it for this weekend, but hopefully the following.
