It's MLK day on Monday and the United Way is sending a group of UW students to Colonnade to fix some drainage problems. If anyone has the day off, we could use more help at the 'Nade from 10am to 2pm.
3 trails will be closed tomorrow:
We should be able to get the drop zone back open by the end of the day. There's a 50% chance we'll get AWOL back open on Monday. K-Line is going to be closed for quite a while...
Sometime in Dec, someone left a hose on and it created one hell of a mess. It eroded part of Nicks Kicks, brought tons of dirt/sediment across AWOL and down onto K-Line. The record breaking Dec rains coupled with all that new sediment totally overloaded the drain on K-Line. The huge build up of water worked it's way under our concrete drain and under the road. That chunk of the road below started to slide toward the entrances to Rung&Stumpy and the Octagon of Death. Nicks Kicks is fixed (thanks Yopawn!) and the water is now running across our concrete grade dip drain. But it's going to take a lot of work to put K-Line back together again. If you're interested in helping at the Nade, contact me at: mwestra@evergreenmtb.org.
Cheers,
Mike
