Thats the bike.
I currently have a v10c and a ht xc bike. Between the DH and XC bike i would like to have a "mountainbike" to go "mountainbiking"...
Ideally this would replace my ht but if it proves to be too much for my local trails ill just keep the ht. Never enough bikes.

Important side note, i found one of these used and well within my budget...

Opinions?

The old world
I've only ridden the newer V4 version, which is a really well sorted and fairly burly (as in not exactly featherweight) all rounder to go mountain biking on.

It's only hearsay, but i've heard that the rear suspension on the V3 is a royal pain in the ass to set up right.

Is that the 29er version? It certainly looks great, but IIRC the chainstays are pretty long, and with that higher pivot, they'll get longer at sag. If that works for you, then it could be pretty awesome.

FWIW, i have seen a couple of decent deals on the new commys with the new linkage on the PB buy sell. granted, they were frame only, and new.

thought about buying one one time, too many trips to the shed.
