I'm guessing it has more to do with obesity related health issues than people coming to their senses.

To put this all in perspective, even with 3 million viewers he was only getting 1% of the US population. That's a lot less than one would think with all of the media coverage.

looks like stella found her groove:
Code:
Glenn Beck – 2,343,000 viewers (645,000) (1,117,000)
Rachel Maddow Show —1,042,000 viewers (270,000) (519,000)
Countdown w/ K. Olbermann – 876,000 viewers (270,000) (468,000)132,000)

prev days seem to support this trend as stable.

imo, the lull was due to having just beat to death healthcare reform, so a good part of the crowd dispersed. i believe if they left him for keith/rachel, this might be news worthy, but it doesn't seem that way.

could also be that beck's schtick is pretty well understood after a week of watching, & he's not found to be very compelling to a potential return audience. personally, i can't watch any manner of that schyte any more. i started to pare back to only brit hume a few yrs back, and have since totally hung it up.

for all the bias found on pbs & npr, i find the presentation moth-to-a-flame attractive. except for a few dark corners, conservative media hasn't seemed to have grasped this

I think the viewers couldn't afford cable AND Keystone Light, so Beck lost out on those viewers until Christian Charities pitches in to restore cable at the trailer park.

While I agree politically with Olbermann/Maddow, both are news commentators, which means they report on the news and then offer their opinions. At least you are being informed.

Every time I watch Beck, usually during a Daily Show commercial break, there is almost no facts being offered, and his blathering analysis is not as funny as Jon Stewart.

I do have to mention the difference in analysis of Goldman Sachs in Congress between MSNBC and the Daily Show. Olbermann/Maddow were giggling at the rough treatment Congress was dishing out; Stewart was saying Congresspeople were expressing impotent rage while they were lining themselves for jobs with Goldman.

while he is a "one trick pony of a host", something else to consider: it's getting warmer outside, there's more daylight, and schools are letting out. recall this time of year other prime time shows are wrapping up for the season.

to pin this entirely on beck's 2D show may be popular, but misleading. i would imagine the ratings for the competition would be on par, or at least the lost viewership is not going to the competition.

ratings are ratings dude.

not to mention the fact that there's a VERY long list of companies boycotting advertising during his show.

Even the simpsons come up with new jokes and topics on a regular basis and they've been on the air a lot longer.

Pilsbury needs to find a new schtick now that the muslim communist democratically elected scare (or spook if you will) is wearing off.
