I would like to commute to work, problem is they don't have showers here....and I am one of those people who sweats in the shower, after the shower, sitting at my desk....you get the picture.

I should just take a solar shower out back but there is something in our conduct guidelines about nudity.

Also, I have to dress business casual, do you guys that commute just throw clothes and shoes in a backpack? do you wear the same clothes to ride home?

How far is the ride? I used to just roll my pants up for the 2 mile ride to my current office.

For the longer commute to my previous office I gave myself some extra time to sit outside with some coffee/juice/whatever. I was dry by the time I went inside. Baby wipes and deoderant took care of any lingering funk.

My first office was near a gym. I flirted my way into a stack of one-day guest passes. That gym now offers a $20/month "shower membership" for commuters. :thumb:

i commuted to school for the first session summer, needless to say it was hot and i am a sweater too. i just brought a towel and an extra change of clothes. i would get to school about 15- 20 minutes early and go straight to the bathroom. i took sink showers and allowed myself enough time to sort of stop sweating before i changed clothes and went to class. on really hot days i just took paper towels with me to class and dried off as needed. however, that was school, not a job.

Carry clothes in bag daily and change when you get there. Leave some shoes, a jacket, babywipes at work to avoid carrying all the time. Embrace the funk.

commute is 6 miles each way.

the company I work for feels the need to have huge fields of grass being used for absolutely nothing. This makes the location pretty remote. I am going to drive around today to look for a gym but I think the closest sign of a commercial area might be 2 miles away. So I would shower, gget on bike, sweat again, and get to work, defeating the purpose.

I am going to try what Laura did on cooler days though, there is no way a sink shower will work on warmer days.

thanks for the help...

I am a sweaty bastid, but just have to deal with it when I ride to work. My co-workers smell worse than I do anyhow. :blah:
I bring an extra shirt, roll up the pant leg, and go. Worst problem I try to avoid is sweating out the seat of your pants. Feels gross, looks like you pee'd your self. My 3 mi commute, pedal standing the whole way, and when I arrive walk around for a while - don't sit. Need some air flow and cool down. Or something like that.

6 miles each way 4-me also...
Going in I don't sweat much, so I can use baby-wipes, powder, deodorize or what ever is needed. Then change into the days work clothes.

But for my lunchtime ride/workouts I wear a bathing suite & use a camping shower in the back of the building.
