By the way, I run a 128mb Nvidia GeForce 6600GT and it handles everything I throw at it. Processing speed is paramount in video cards, all the memory in the world is no good if it can't make the data transfers quickly.

Hell, the top of the line Nvidia 7800 GTX is only a 256mb card. It beats the pants off the rest of the gaming market, even the 512mb cards.

If you have trouble, Abu from India gives you a hand.
If you could only here the excrement sandwich my brother's wife was feeding Abu over the phone about her laptop.

Nowhere Man!
Get a system that comes with really big speakers. Mine look so cool sitting on my desk. When I figure out how to turn them on I am going to rock this joint.

I cannot get the Newegg page to load, is the video card PCI-Express? Also, the Nvidia 6600 and 6800 cards can do stuff that the ATI ones cannot in games like Far Cry and (I believe) future releases of HL2 addons and whatnot. Just a though.

Out of my mind, back in a moment.
For what it's worth....

I've got a dimension 4400 with a 1.8 ghz processor and half a gig of ram, and it can handle massive amounts of stuff. I've never had a problem with it, and it's somewhere in the neighborhood of....5 years old maybe?

Depends on where you get it. I have a 2.8 ghz P4 if you want it cheap.
Ok well I need H8R to tell me why he spec'd what he did first.

AMD's are faster w/ less clock speed and heat. They are also cheaper for the given proccessor power.

That 2.4 Athlon 64 can be faster than 3.46 P4.

It's the way it processes, not how fast the clock is set that determines the final speed.

Edit: you wanted FAST for gaming, that's what I spec'd.

:)

YUP. I have always been an AMD fan, but I am running the P4 right now cause it was free.

H8R you think it's worth holding on to my exising Video Card? I think it still works, and not purchasing the new one?

NO.

I spec'd a fast rig out of the box if you put it together stock. It will play most any game no prob, and it will be cool and QUIET.

Helping you OC over the internet is like trying to teach you how to do 20' drops via Ridemonkey.

You need to do MASSIVE research and proceed w/ caution. I can only offer my suggested spec here.
