How about they test the extremity of one's liberal/consertatism vs. the IQ of the individuals. That will be a more equivalent test. I also want to see who funded and ran the study? Were the sample populations taken from communities in the same cities/regions with similar income and education levels? What about demographic make up of the sample? There are a lot of unknowns that allow these statements to be made.

As for this stereotype, I don't get it. Most of my family are highly conservative (fiscally) individuals who are far from risk averse. This compared to Wifey and her family who are full-fledged Santa Cruz hippies, who are scared of the world.

You don't understand how greater fear responses would be associated with people who seem to be terrified of change?
