I may have posted this before. But they just reran the feature on "The fifth Estate" on CBC. Interesting stuff. I had no idea JUST how cozy the Bush family was with the Bin Laden family. (And that's not conspiracy theory. That's documented fact). GWB's oil company Arbusto was funded almost solely by Saudi money.

Apparently on Sept. 11, Bush sr. was actually meeting with Osama's brother.

That's not especially damning in and of itself. Osama is/was a bit of a black sheep it would seem. But I didn't know just how tight the Bushes were with the Bin Ladens


And another weird thing is the TV footage of GWB sitting in the classroom in Florida. Someone comes in and apparently tells him that the second plane has hit the tower. But then weeks(?), he is making some public address and he claims that he was watching TV outside the classroom, and he SAW the FIRST plane hit the tower. But that footage was not available on TV until several days after Sept 11. So maybe he was confused, or mis-spoke. But still....

It's interesting stuff. Damn liberal Canadian media....

Maybe I'm not remembering things correctly, but I remember the morning of 9/11 fairly clearly and I distinctly remember seeing a short clip on a news station of what they said was the first plane hitting the buildings. It was a tape that someone on the street had brought in. They had been filming a ceremony of some kind and the plane flew overhead, camera pointed up as it went into the building. Super choppy and poorly filmed, but I remember that. Seems quite possible that George saw that same bit of footage that morning.

Just my 2 cents. I'm not going to get into the argument of this, I've tried arguing with conspiracy theorists and they just keep throwing incomplete facts at you, not that I entirely trust our government....

Ok, lets say all the items on that site were true. How exactly does Bush and Bin Laden's ties result in planes flying into the world trade center?
I mean, who is to profit from this? How? Bush is already president. The Bin Ladens are already rich and if the Bush's are doing business with them, why blame a Bin Laden for the attacks? Basically, what is the point of the conspiracy?

Well

A) this isn't "The Onion", it's CBC.

B) There are some crackpots who do believe that the gov't knew that 911 was coming and did nothing to stop it. (Giving Bush justification to go to war with Iraq). The CBC report says that there is no hard evidence for any of this. BUT if you do some digging (as they did), you do find some weird stuff that makes you go "Hmmm."

So I don't really think this is a case of knee-jerk, Bush=bad propaganda. They did some looking around and this is what they found.

Fact is that just becasue you deal with one family member, it doesn't mean that you deal with all of them.

As much as I hate Bush, I've always found this 'link' to be a huge twisting of the facts.

Tidbit - 1/4 (or something close to that) of the NY Stock exchange is Suadi money... does that mean that they are behind the comcast attempted take over of Disney?!?!?!
