Did you read the article in the first post of the thread?
btw...

while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention investigates 109 reports of infection caused by a fungus called Fusarium in patients in 17 states.
Shouldn't they err on the side of caution? 109 cases is substantial and significant. And real world sometimes doesn't mimic lab testing.

I think B&L is erring on the side of caution. I don't know the actual numbers but I'd bet a HUGE percentage of contact lens wearers in the USA use B&L solutions. So of course anytime there's a problem with eye infections involving contact lens wearers, chances are lots of them use B&L products. Assuming that it's B&L's fault would be like saying Ford should recall all it's cars because many drunk driving accidents involve Ford vehicles.

My prediction for the outcome of this is, it will turn out that the infection came from people rinsing their contacts in tap water.

I have been very careless with my contacts in the past. Spit on them when I didn't have drops, dirty hands, etc...I am willing to bet this is a contributing factor, but I am not taking chances over a $4 bottle of solution. I am glad retailers are pulling it, because I will assume it is ok to use again when it is back on the shelf. It's our motto to blame other people. I do appreciate the CDC erring to the side of caution though. People complain about meat and such, and I have had the FDA come back on some wierd things in the past, so they are paying more attention than they get credit for.
