Heading down wednesday morning for work but I have a long weekend to do whatever. Thinking about driving up and meeting some friends in Nicaragua but the border crossing sounds a bit sketchy so also looking for options in CR. I'll be outside of SJ but could travel if it's worth it. Anyone know of any places that rent or possibly do the guided tour type thing with an emphasis on DH? Or totally willing to pedal if the descent is worth it.

Google didn't find much for me, mostly looked like fire road cruising.

Big Mountain Adventures offers DH ride tours there.

I did their "Pura Vida" trip a couple of years ago. It was a good time. Maybe look them up and see if you can tag along.

I don't think they offer bikes though.

Head over to puerto viejo, dominical, playa hermosa, jaco or whatever break gets the best swell that weekend.

That is plan B. Done that a few times and was looking for something a little different. Not at all a bad backup plan though.
