Andrew Riley faced 128 felony charges Tuesday that included theft, vandalism and intimidation, but he is no adult; he is a seventh grader.

Barely a teen, Riley is too young to be tried in an adult court. Even if convicted on all counts, he still likely would be freed from juvenile prison no later than when he turns 21, prosecutors said.

My brother works at the California Youth Prison and sees kids like this (maybe not as bad to start with) a lot. They come in for murder or something at 14 and will be in until 25 when they go to the "big house" until they end up dead.

Sad, but some kids never learn.

If society isn't the biggest reason to why there are kids like him and 14year olds, like jimmydean mentioned, that have murdered, how come the Scandinavian countries don't have cases like these? I don't know if any other western country (GB if one) has your problems.

You have created a very extreme and violent society, do you really belive people, and kids especially, can live in it without being affected by it?

But then again one of the reasons that might be true is that adults are too busy raping them for them to have time to act up

According to Swedish Radio on Tuesday, statistics from Sweden’s National Council for Crime Prevention show that the number of reported rapes against children is on the rise. The figures have nearly doubled in the last ten years: 467 rapes against children under the age of 15 were reported in 2004 compared with 258 in 1995. Legal proceedings continue this week in a case involving a 13 year old girl from Motala who was said to have been subjected to a group rape by four men.
I guess the police are too busy with Sweden's own version of the Patriot Act

LOL, thats awsome. Playing Grand Theft Auto, watching violent movies and getting into the occasional fight as a kid didn't mess me up. I actually went to college, got a job, and became a half way productive member of society.

And now I come out and curse the grungy kids that sit on my wall and talk about how kids have no respect these days (even though I'm only 25 :) )

You mean Sweden isn't some utopia where pixies dance in the moonlight, snow is warm and fish tastes like chicken?
