There is something about the message
Jimmy Buffet
Garth Brooks
Kenny Chesney
Brooks & Dunn
Big & Rich
Rascal Flats

They are all awesome

It's the guiltiest of pleasures.

Does anyone else enjoy Country?

Edit: I get funny looks when I blast country from my Subaru.

Garth Brooks killed country music. Jimmy is a really good friend of mine but ever since he became a country singer his music has sucked. Rascal Flats is not far from good. Good is Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings Hank Williams Sr., etc. I still like bluegrass.

Really? I have read all of his books. Did he write about you?
How do you know him?

He is my hero.

He's from our neighboring county. It's kinda the metro mobile area. He dated my mother for 2 years in high school. The same high school I went to. She's mentioned a few times in his books. I'll ask which ones. I've been going to his and his mother and sister's parties for years. His sister Lulu is one of my mother's best friends. He's a super cool guy.

"Rollin' (The Ballad Of Big & Rich)"

Brother and sisters
We are here for one reason
And one reason alone
To share our love of music
I present to you
Country music without prejudice, hey

Country boys don't rock and roll
Yeah the record man told me so
Yeah you'll never get it on the radio
Why they trying to complicate
The simple music that we make
Oh cause if it moves my soul
I'm gonna keep on rollin, rollin

Hey, just wanna hear everybody sing (rollin', rollin')
At the top of your lungs till the windows break (rollin', rollin')
Say hey, hey, hey

I ain't gonna shut my mouth
Don't mind if I stand out in a crowd
Just wanna live outloud
Well I know there's got to be
A few hundred million more like me
Just trying to keep it free, yeah

Hey, just wanna hear everybody sing (rollin', rollin')
At the top of your lungs till the windows break (rollin', rollin')
Say hey, hey, hey

Charlie Pride was the man in black
Rock and roll use to be about Johnny Cash
Yeah whatcha think about that
Well I'm a crazy son-of -a -b*tch
But I know I'm gonna make it big and rich
Yeah im gonna let it rip

Hey, just wanna hear everybody sing (rollin', rollin')
At the top of your lungs till the windows break (rollin', rollin')
Say hey, cowboy Troy

[Cowboy Troy]
Dum-diggity-dum, diggity-diggity-dum dig this
Slicker than the grease from a BBQ Briskit

Got more chunk than a fresh potato salad
You thought you had your answer
But your answer was invalid
Your looking at me crazy cause you think I'm loco
The big black cowboy, with the crazy vocal
Todas las personas gritando arriva
Now you heard it, now I know you a believer
Esta cancion es para toda la gente
Es muy importante a usar su mente
So let go of all your preconcieved notions
Get up on your feet and put your body in motion
Cause back home we love to dance
We could be two-stepin, or ravin' to trance
And when the party is crunk, the girls back it up
We got the systems in the cars and the 20's on the trucks

6 foot four with a cowboy hat
I dont mess around, yo what's up with that
I'm cowboy troy, a texas hick
And I'm rollin with the brothers
Big and Rich

Go cowboy go cowboy go
Go cowboy go cowboy go

Hey, just wanna hear everybody sing (rollin', rollin')
At the top of your lungs till the windows break (rollin', rollin')
Say hey, hey, hey

Hey, just wanna hear everybody sing (rollin', rollin')
At the top of your lungs till the windows break (rollin', rollin')
Say hey, hey, hey

Really...that's deep.

"Got more chunk than a potato salad" is about the best line there...and that's not saying much....This is not country.

Over there somewhere.
Question,

Is it true that if you play a country tape/cd backwards, that they get the farm back, the wife and dog returns to him, and the truck/tractor starts working again?

I like Randy Travis, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, and Garth Brooks. My wife and I went to see George Strait at the Iowa State Fair one year. It was the first concert I'd ever been to where EVERYONE knew the words to the songs and were singing along word-for-word. It was also the first concert where, if someone bumped into you by accident, they would appologize. Granted, I've been to a LOT of hardcore and Heavy Metal shows...

Why the hell do Yankees think that trucks and tractors are the same thing??? Are you talking about semis??? They are referred to as both, but John Deere doesn't make a truck and Ford doesn't make a tractor that's worth a sh*t.

Yeah - well I saw George too. Unfortunately Kenny Chesney opened up, along with the Dixie Chicks and various others. People were retardedly drunk and the only person I knew was a cow hauler with coke on his nose. I also paid $9 to park, after the $50 a person tickets. I still haven't gotten over it. Matter of fact, I was so irritated we left before George finished.

BTW - if you like Garth Brooks, you must move to China. Anyone that likes that assface is a communist. Period.

I don't know Garth personally, but he does sing a good song or two. BTW, I think it's time to up your dosage of Paxil.
