Just a friendly reminder that if we had actually shut down for real without a bunch of milquetoast, zero enforcement scaredy cat counties and facebook driven freedom lovers we'd pretty much be done by now with the covid gone. Like 2 weeks ago.

Oh well. Let's see how much longer we can do this non-response before complete collapse. :)

Now that trails are open and little traffic I kind of like this. I say we drag it out as long as possible.

What is the correlation?
You asked me if I knew it would never be 'gone' then used two countries that never really shut to prove the point that it didn't disappear.

There's your correlation ;)

What I'm saying is the same thing i said 2 months ago: If we had just said "hey country, get yer shit tickets and food for a month, next week we don't move for 6 weeks", along with travel bans and aggresive contact tracing...........covid would not be in the united states in any appreciable form right now and whatever lingered, we could isolate a hell of a lot easier.

IE: we could be acting like our normal morally, socially, and ecologically tone deaf stock market worshiping dickhead selves again.

Not you btw. I mean us assholes down south.

I'm just playing the devil's shitty lawyer here; And then what? When everything is under control and borders are opened, what will prevent another outbreak? Assuming the worst case scenario of no vaccine for another 24 months (or ever).

It's not an A/B proposition. Who said anything about opening the borders? I just want my hair did and to sit in shitty vin diesel movies while eatin chikkin wings.

You can sanitize the shit out of some boat goods.

@Toshi, when you took the antibody test at quest, which brand test did they run on you?
I recall you mentioning one being more accurate than the other.
Want to ensure I get the good one when I book my appt.

No way of knowing from their interface. If you test negative doesn't matter. If you test positive then I think you just need to call them and find out. Abbott >> Euroimmun.

my company's WFH directive was just effectively extended indefinitely for the majority of employees.
We have been told once the shelter in place order expires in June that we will be alternating between in person and WFH, like a blue team and a red team each going in on alternating weeks.

Yep confirmed, even with much less traffic people are still rushing, tailgating, driving like idiots and pretending they're on a run way.

We have two neighbors who will be doing "summer camp" with Haley. It's going to be a nanny for the four girls that will take them hiking, bike riding, arts & crafts, etc. Mostly around the neighborhood, but out of our hair so that we can work. That's our only option at this point. Amusingly, it will actually cost less for more 1-1 time for the girls to be with their friends.

We normally pay $35/day for summer daycare through the school; same with the other two families. $140/d 8am-4pm for four 7-9 y/o girls with occasionally walking the dogs in the process? That's $17.50/hr cash, so a sweet gig for anyone home from college. Any activities will be paid for by us: zoo, arts & crafts, etc. Our only requirement is a commitment until beginning of school - August 15th, iirc.

in all honesty i'd be surprised if i'm back in the office with an sort of regularity this year. wife and i have been having discussions about whether or not a regular school year is going to happen, i'm not holding my breath.

Denver has already said it'll be a hybrid model of in person and online learning starting August. We shall see.

Texas started opening things back up at the end of April and should soon have the most new cases per day. New cases are projected to increase into June. Everything is bigger in Texas.

In hell. Welcome!
Unlike the mega-intelligent Massachusetts.

They just unveiled this plan and no one knows what the heck any of that means. There are no details about industries in each phase, what does that mean for businesses, nothing. Just posturing, per usual.

There has already been a threat of January. I can't fathom that... But if schools don't open, there is a good chance that the colleges also won't open.
One of the large school districts is my client, so it's a big issue for me as well, beyond getting rid of large child so that I can work.

Our own resident-villains are finally establishing themselves -- Tesla restarts factory in defiance of shelter-in-place rules.
And it's not even Musk wishing to be seen as an enabler within the CA economy, he's yet another having angst of exclusivity and the nastiness of dealing with it. Bezos halting the entire Parisian Amazon distribution out of spite after it being recommended basic essentials be given priority handling at this time.

Absolutely senseless individuals and though each have more Money than God, they're living beyond their means. Nah - they are all fine companies I'm sure. There's no pressure to perform whatsoever, so long there's abilities to digest that spaceshot act and a soft sell of the Washington Post.

Television City - ready or not.
