Note from the ground in Italy. Sounds horrific.
And another

Let post 5 there sink in a bit.
Well.

That was sobering.

You may be at el aeropuerto, but how much contact do you have with the traveling patie... Public.

Is most of your mechanicing done on the interior or exterior of the plane?
Quite a bit, actually. Depending on what breaks and when the crew calls, the aircraft might be boarding or already boarded when I get there. Plus god only knows what's been touched and by who, or whose shitty kid/pilot has snotted, puked, or otherwise goobered on something.

I am avoiding going upstairs as much as possible these days.

I think getting this is inevitable, so I'm not really trying to avoid it. The capsid is not going to evolve to be more recognizable to your immune system, but it might become less recognizable. Best to get it before or after the hospitals are flooded.

Having said that, I'm already a pretty vigorous hand washer.

I clicked on fox news twice yesterday & heard the following;

1. Term "Chinese Corona virus" used several times
2. "This is really hard to catch. "
-matt schlep, quarantined
3. This is a tool of the radical left to frighten Americans.

Marketing (or remarketing) 101

Funny that the most responsible response I have seen to this outbreak is from Harbor Freight Tools, who has stepped up their cleaning regimen and promised affected employees that they will be paid if they have to stay home under quarantine.
Unfortunately they used HF brand cleaners and issues their employees all "Western Safety" masks, they were cheap, but totally ineffective, like everything from HFT. RIP to their entire staff.

That's not entirely fair. I'm sure the masks can be repurposed as hammers when they fail, just like every other tool in the store.

Just left Costco.
Shelves all stocked, pretty empty people wise and no restrictions on qty.
Mostly people shopping with elderly parents
A few masks and gloves.

Asked checkout dude if things have been frantic in 2 weeks since I’ve been on usual shop.

‘Not too bad. Nothing like the fucking retards out West.’

And we all thought it would be the climate/water wars that would kill us all.

everyone in your area is still probably stocked up from the nor'eaters that never happened
Possibly.
More likely they expect the state to swoop in and make everything alright.
They love big government around here.

I just found the guys comment funny

But if you're not stocked up on chicken wings, what do you eat while under quarantine? Hope you bought enough to weather the storm.

Going back to Costco this week for muffins, whiskey, brisket and of course chicken wings. Things are not looking good, better to be prepared.

I'd like to see the hospitalization rates in that picture, too.
this is the first time i've seen a single chart include both cases and fatality rate, but yes that would be good info to have as well. the hospitalization rates will fall somewhere between those 2 values, and skew heavily to the more severe cases in the higher risk age brackets.
