Florida's going down the tubes big time...
I'm convinced at this point Florida is too inconvenienced to take any sort of preventative measures, and has just resolved to let people die. Finally have a chance to meet that Jesus guy theyve been crowing about for years.

Your own personal easy bake oven.
I would fucking drown in that thing, unless it comes with an AC backpack.
Just need to integrate a desalinator and it would be like a swamp cooler.

Now that vaccines appear to be in the near future (russia said they will have one before october)..... Will that mean the end of covid in the US?

What if therr are enough antivaxxers to keep the disease around?

 You're funny. Amusingly it was to ride my bike, which I barely do anymore, and to live somewhere cheaper. To live how we wanted to, we couldn't afford to in SF without me keeping a really high stress job, which means seizures.
Fuck SF I just meant in terms of "places stoney could live around denver"

No one needs to explain themselves leaving the bay area. Although you did kind of move to the midwest equivalent. I cry every time I go through the greater denver population squeeze these days.

You said what if

I'll be honest. First in line for "the fastest, most desperately produced vaccine in human history, developed within an environment of completely relaxed regulations in the name of expediency" doesn't have that great of a ring to it.

This. I will continue to distance and wear masks and minimize my interactions with other humans for quite awhile after a vaccine is released.

Haha, y’all are not in any danger of taking an unproven vaccine. It will be quite a while for it to “trickle down” to us plebes. And by then we will know if it works or has negative side-effects. Hoo ray for not being the first in line this time.

This virus is completely unpredictable. This virus is new to us. We are learning more each day. Patients on ventilators from this virus are now less likely to die. That's good news.
There was a recent study in Boston and COVID-19 "recovered" patients were assessed 2 months after diagnosis and only 12.6% reported they were back to baseline. More than half of the participants still had 3+ symptoms. A worsened quality of life was reported among 44% of patients, according to the study. Don't get this virus. Do whatever you can to avoid it. Wear your mask. Avoid close contact with others, especially indoors.

Have a great weekend.

This is what is terrifying. Would really like to find this referenced study for additional context and data.

Our across the street neighbor got tested. She had a fever for two days now. No other symptoms.

We had drinks on her dock 10 days ago. Safe distance, no mask.

Awaiting her results.

That video is :banghead: on both sides. On one hand are the idiots who think its fake, including brian lopes riding away calling the mask a muzzle (jokes....that dude has a shirt on). Then again on the other hand, those two guys going up and sitting next to people - I'd tell them to fuck off as well. I also wouldn't take a mask from them, whats to say they aren't already sick and aren't spreading it themselves?

That area they are in is obviously busy, so maybe wear a mask or just stay away from there? Maybe its against the grain of some thoughts here, but I'm not wearing a mask when outside. Whats the point? Then again I'm not standing in crowds of people or going to farmers markets or to the mall.

I am wearing them indoors. And now all of Toronto and the cities surrounding Toronto are all making (or already have) it mandatory to wear masks in indoor public spaces (public being anywhere but private residence).

Yeah. It’s leaning on propaganda. We have no idea how many peaceful and/or positive interactions happened. Plus, I’m not taking a mask from a stranger unless something identifies them as credentialed or qualified.

Yup - science must not get in the way of schools re-opening!

so all or nothing?
Back track, back track, back track

Thank you for your feedback and questions in follow up to my email from Wednesday, July 14.
Transitioning our students and staff back to school requires community collaboration and we thank you for your continued partnership. We will continue to update and refine our re-entry plan to incorporate feedback, the changing environment, and pending guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on reopening schools protocols. This information, along with our, forthcoming, full plan document, and frequently asked questions will be presented and reviewed by the Douglas County Board of Education at its upcoming special meeting Saturday, July 25.
We are listening to your concerns. We received many common questions that families feel they need answers to in order to select in-person learning or eLearning for their students. As recommended by our Task Force, we could also pivot to a hybrid model (more details included in the link below).

77,255 new cases yesterday.
The US is really winning this game big times. :(
It seems schools will re-open.
It seems there wont be another full lockdown, and mask are culturally despised by a significant % of the population.

Assuming a ratio of 3:1 to real number of infected people vs declared number...(which is my best guess, based on the somewhat constant ratio across countries between official covid deaths vs increase of deaths 1 year prior) The US should reach herd inmunity by brute force before 300 million vaccines are ready and deployed.

New research shows that recovered patients only keep the antibodies for a few short months, making herd immunity unachievable via "brute force".

Granted I know It's a much more complicated calculation than my ham-fisted, abacus groping attempt, but a month of 60k new cases per day is roughly 1.8 million. If the mortality rate it 4% then that's 72k deaths per month. And wasn't there some model that predicted 240k by November ?

So numbers have also been rising dramatically in Seattle. We have mandatory masks rules and from everything I have witnessed all rules and etiquette is being followed >99% of the time. The spread is most likely happening with non public interactions. 18 to 30 year olds used only make up about 10% of cases, now it is closer to 40%

The real kick in the ass is we were so close before shit started turning south after memorial day.
