I believe dogs and cats have tested positive for Covid but there is no evidence that they have spread it as yet.
Although it seems like it would be hard to prove this at the best of times.
Our elderly cat died in March of this year...a couple weeks after my CEO was potentially exposed at the biogen idec conference. She had trouble breathing and we had to put her down. It was pretty abrupt, although she was old. Can't help thinking that she could have been exposed through us and died because of it. We all had a small cold at the same time.

Who could've predicted that the third wave would be driven by MSU campus infections?

(Everybody)

Meanwhile our stupid-ass school board just voted to return to 5 days/week -- starting November for K-5, and in January for HS...

I'm planning to hunker down in an undisclosed location in Idaho until 2021... but am up for tacos when @SkaredShtles comes to grab his boys in a few weeks ;)

I have no idea where I am
Ran into one of my studio neighbors as I was coming in. He asked how I was, I told him about how I haven't been coming in during the day because others in the building won't wear masks in the common areas. He proceeded to give me the condescending counter argument that since he comes from a family of Doctors this is an over hyped flu and that I have a low chance of getting it or it won't be that bad if I do. Then tells me that he doesn't watch any news because it's all bullshit. Dude sounded exactly like every other republican who is trying to downplay this. Even used the phrase, "I know it's not politically correct, but...". Also told me that I didn't need to get upset with him that he was just trying to alleviate fear.

Whole conversation was from 25 feet away, and he was not wearing a mask in the hallway.

Had it not been for this forum, where I can get various opinions and backpacking recently in Grayson Highlands, around others who were like minded and extra cautious, then I might begin to think I'm over reacting. My little area of NC has gotten so backwards and conservative I can't stand it. The state average for mask wearing is supposedly above 50%, but you wouldn't think that by looking out onto the street.

Wild. I dislike the fact that conservative is what these folks are called. Seems more like far right, or nutjob.

Conservative idiots?
Not necessarily. I ran into people that politically are more left oriented and they were also saying this BS that the virus is just a way of the government to suppress people's will. And don't get me started on all the alternative anti-vaxxers that don't want that to have that 5G chip injected.
Did you hear about the press meeting yesterday where they asked Kåre Mølbak and Søren Brostrøm if the virus really exists? :banghead: Our education system still has some massive work ahead of it if we find these kind of idiots in the population.

Has this something to do with politics? I would call these folks idiots.
Fair point. Was mostly taking issue with the prevailing pattern of calling these folks conservative - a term that has evolved and twisted seemingly beyond recognition.

Having had family members in education/academia in the USA, and seeing things evolve over the last 30 years, I can tell you that the trend is not bright. I remember being 12 and having my dad flabbergasted and asking me to come take a look at a term paper and pick out the errors in spelling and grammar... not to mention logic.

Interesting for Ontario... I'm sure a lockdown or restrictions are coming, but its slow. Strippers are closed...

The curve in Quebec is similar but taller. Case count was 838 yesterday. Currently we're in the "red" zone and will be for the next 28 days to try to squash this... again.

In the particular case of my neighbor, he is in fact a Republican and a Southern US Catholic. Most certainly conservative.

The mask issue has become a deeply polarizing political position and not a realistic implementation of a safety measure. And we can thank the Divider in Chief for that.

Hope Hicks as the Super-Spreader was not the plot line I was expecting...

Looks like Drumpfs dogma finally ran into his Karma.

I hope they had some bad-ass filters in that debate hall.
