Exit, CO
Financée got her invite to schedule her vaccination, so she'll do that tomorrow when she goes in for her first shift of the week. I was under the impression that it was "get your ass in day-of or lose your place in line" but apparently not? Anycrap, happy she's getting it on the books to be done.

CDC vaccine phases

Phase 1b: 75 years and older

Phase 1c: 65 to 74 years old
16 to 64 with high-risk medical conditions including diabetes and heart disease
essential workers

Phase 2: 16 to 64 years old not offered the vaccine during Phase 1
Colorado's "plan" looks like this:
  • The vaccine prioritization plan has three phases:
  • 1A: Highest-risk health care workers and individuals. These are the people who must have direct contact with COVID-19 patients for longer periods of time (defined as 15 minutes or more over a period of 24 hours) as part of their jobs. This phase also includes long-term care facility staff and residents.
  • 1B: Moderate-risk health care workers and responders. Health care workers who do not have prolonged direct contact with COVID-19 patients, but still work in direct patient care or as direct patient care support staff. This phase also includes EMS, firefighters, police, correctional workers, dispatchers, funeral services, other first responders, and COVID-19 response personnel.
  • 2: Higher-risk individuals and essential workers. People who are at an elevated risk of getting very sick or dying of COVID-19, including any adult age 65 and older, as well as adults of any age with obesity, diabetes, chronic lung disease, significant heart disease, chronic kidney disease, cancer, or who are immunocompromised.
  • This phase also includes people who have direct interactions with the public as part of their jobs, such as grocery store workers and school and child care staff, as well as people who work in high density settings like farms and meat-packing plants. Also included are workers who serve people that live in high-density settings (e.g. homeless shelter or group home workers), other health care workers not included in Phase 1, and adults who received a placebo during a COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial.
  • 3: The general public. Any individuals age 16-64 without high-risk conditions.
  • Prioritization is subject to change based on data, science, and availability.

How the hell does Toshi looking at images of foreign objects in rectums qualify as 1A?

I have no idea where I am
As I have mentioned that some of my neighbors won't wear masks and I have switched to a night schedule. Friday night two of them came down the hall not wearing masks. I looked out the window and said, loudly, "mask, please!" Tonight her boyfriend made a special trip down here just to chew me out and threaten me for snapping at his girlfriend. I did apologize for speaking loudly as I am a smith with poor hearing. But the dude just stood there ranting while mask-less. Telling me that I don't have a right to dictate how others live their lives outside of my studio. When I pressed him on why he doesn't wear one, he went off on some bs reasoning about how it isn't necessary. Said it was insane to think that someone would need to wear a mask in an empty hallway. I told him that I wore one because I never know who's around the corner. Asked me, "is there not a door between us ?", after I pointed out that he wasn't wearing a mask at the moment. Then he told me that he and the landlord's wife are on the same page and that I have been complaining to her about it. Have not spoken to her or the landlord in months.

It's been proven that people's breath can still linger in the air for some time. It's why I don't go into any small spaces like convenience stores or building lobbies, etc.

Am I missing something here ? Am I the one who's nuts ?

No.

Look at countries that have handled this successfully so far, then look at Murica and freedum.

e.g. Countries like Australia locking down cities when they get a new outbreak of ~30 cases for the first time in weeks. Whereas Murica gets 250k+ cases and 3k deaths per day and "it is what it is".

I would say you are on the cautious side of things, but better that than the other way around. Yes, aerosols linger around for a while, so I avoid badly ventilated small areas like elevators and such as much as possible, even with mask. While shopping or interacting with anyone I wear a FFP2 (similar to N95) mask. I cannot avoid all interactions, but with the FFP2 mask on I feel save enough that I don't mind, even if the other person is not masked or a under-the-nose masker.

Just found out from another neighbor that others have complained about him not wearing a mask. Apparently he flat out refused to don a mask when requested by a pregnant tenant. I should also mention that the landlord has been very ill and has multiple comorbidities. So this guy just doesn't give a shit about anyone else and gets severely butt hurt when called out on it.

Not as bad as the "capital of Yurp" and other EU countries.

In hell. Welcome!

Your article is old. My sister lives in Belgium and she acknowledges it is a total shitshow over there. If you think the US government is dysfunctional, pay attention to Belgium.
