Seems like the low hanging vaccination fruit has been picked, with the elderly getting vaccinated the national trends are showing an uptick in younger folks with more severe cases being hospitalized -- thanks to the new variants and relaxation of corn-teen behaviors...

I really, really wish they'd share the specifics of the underlying health condition in stories like that. I know HIPAA exists for a reason and all that, but since underlying condition can mean anything from mild asthma to Lukemia or god knows what else, it's hard to know what to think about a 10 year old's death without that info.

I belive the vaccine should be paid for, and copyrights be given away.
Its of no use, other then financial, to have India/LatAm/Africa/Europe as giant petri dishes cooking new variants for the next 3-4 years until half the world population is vaccinated.

Its not uncommon (in latam, and india i suspect) for test kits to run out for several days, and have people die before a confirmed diagnosis.
NYT suggests perhaps 10x underreported.
