Mmmm mmmm.... It's fast. And light. And stiff. And - oh god, need to change my boxers....jack123 said:have you ridden in it? if so hows it feel.
I stumbled upon this site that has specs on the bikes:dexterq20 said:Look what made its way into our shop the other day...
Ill have to agree! Maybe it will grow on me.vitox said:i have tried to like it but i cant, i still find it hideous, might be a really nice bike but i think its ugly, uglier than the old marins even.
Must be, with the X.0 rear derailleur...MMcG said:Wow that's pretty damned cool if you ask me - where is your shop Dexter?? Is tht the top of the line in the prophet line up?
Yea thats right, I've seen MRPs and such like that, but never an E13, maybe cuz their bashguards are soo damn pimpin.OGRipper said:Makes sense, for mountain cross, dual slalom, etc., you don't really need a bashguard and can save some weight.
The Kadvang said:The MTN X version looks SWEET. Funny though, its got an E-13 guide without the bashguard. Don't think I've ever seen that before.
Yeah, thats what I thought. The e13 guys told me their bashguard is an integral part of the guide and thats why it might not work as well with say an MRP guard. You're right though, I can see it now. Good eye buddykidwoo said:An e13 chainguide won't work without a bashguard.....at least the single ring system won't. The plastic tab that sits at 12 o'clock creates a barrier with the bashguard keeping the chain "inside" where it's supposed to be. The fourcross version in the pictures DOES have a bashguard on it. It's a clear one so it may be hard to see.
I work at a shop in Pleasant Hill, CA (SF Bay Area). That's the Prophet 2000, so it's the upper-mid range model. It's not for sale though, that bike belongs to our Cannondale rep. It retails for about $2600. The Prophet 4000 is the top of the line model, and it goes for $4000.MMcG said:where is your shop Dexter?? Is tht the top of the line in the prophet line up?
Nope, that's actually the new X.9 derailleur. They just changed the colors on it, but it's still the same mechanism.binary visions said:Must be, with the X.0 rear derailleur...
So... a fork that weighs under 4 lbs, gets 5.5" of travel, and has SPV damping isn't a good fork? Damn, you coulda fooled me.mobius said:Get rid of the lefty and you got a winner.
Yeah, that site's legit. That's all the same literature our C-dale rep showed us when he brought in his Prophet. You're right, it's definitely not an official site, but that's all the official info. Good work Watson!Mackie said:I stumbled upon this site that has specs on the bikes:

problem is, it's not a C'Dale site, so I'm not 100% sure it's accurate.
Look like nice rides though.

I saw you at whistler this year......... no I am not a stalkerLightninleana said:I've got one too. Mine is the four cross version, it's super nice. At snowmass I qualified on my jekyell on Friday and then on Friday afternoon the Prophet showed up. I looked at it and was like hell ya I want to race it. So my dad and I spent like five hours that night transfering everything from one bike to the other. I raced it on Saturday and I got my first pro win on it... that's how sweet it is. It's so responsive in the corners, and the shorter back end makes it much easier to manual. In short it quickly became one of my favorite bikes, and I completely recomend it for four cross.

Careful.....one is too new and untested and most likely the other was still only made in the 80'sdexterq20 said:But wait... what's he drooling over? Is he... naw, couldn't be...
What a coincidence! I was made in the 80's too!kidwoo said:Careful.....one is too new and untested and most likely the other was still only made in the 80's

i agree, single pivot designs live on...Dingus McGee said:Wow.....the Heckler (Conejo, whatever) lives on and on and on...........the "optimized" single-pivot won't die.
OK, ok they threw in the Killer-V superfluous top tube for techno-bling.

she can use my lefty suspension any day...man that was bad, ok back to packing golf clubs
OK, maybe for the 'standover' (who really stands over a bike anymore?),frorider said:i agree, single pivot designs live on...
i disagree w/ your 'superfluous top tube' comment. it doesn't take my Ph.D. in engineering to understand why double diamond front ends (e.g. Ventana, c-dale, etc.) are able to achieve a good combination of stiffness, strength (incl. the shock mount area), low standover height, and light weight. if you need it explained, lemme know.
Hey........wheres the other half of your fork guy????dexterq20 said:Look what made its way into our shop the other day...
